Man held in failure to appear in court

A former Sykesville man is being held on $25,000 bail at the Carroll County Detention Center after being arrested Saturday on outstanding bench warrants for failing to appear in court.

Sandy Delyons IV, 38, of Carroll Manor in Baltimore County did not appear in Carroll County District Court on Feb. 5 and March 24 to face charges of possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine, possession of crack cocaine, two counts of possessing drug paraphernalia and conspiracy to distribute crack cocaine.

Court records show that Delyons was a passenger in a car stopped by police on Route 26 near Oakland Mills Road in Sykesville on Oct. 4, 1996.

Police said a search of the car uncovered crack cocaine and paraphernalia within reach of Delyons, who was seated behind the driver.


Sykesville: Firefighters responded at 7: 30 p.m. Saturday to burning hay bales on Johnsville Road. Units were out one hour and 50 minutes.

Sykesville: Firefighters responded at 1: 10 p.m. Saturday to a brush fire on Breezy Lake Way at Johnsville Road. Units were out 27 minutes.


Sykesville: Employees at Liberatore's, a restaurant in the 6300 block of Georgetown Blvd., told police that a picture window was broken about 3: 20 a.m. Sunday. Damage was estimated at $1,550.
