THE SOUTH CARROLL Business Association has planned a huge family event from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday on the carnival grounds of the Sykesville-Freedom District Volunteer Fire Department on Route 32.

The annual Freedom Fun Day is packed with entertainment, games, music and food. More than 50 groups will have booths to lTC promote businesses, crafts and flea market items.

Performing throughout the day will be country singer Shannon Knight, magician David French, disc jockey Detour Dave and Bak Traxx.

Children will enjoy games, a fun bus, moon bounce, face painting, clowns and an obstacle course. Adults will want to visit a beer garden, car show and bingo games.

The U.S. Army Dog Training team will demonstrate canine handling and care. The Oriole Bird will greet visitors from noon to 2 p.m.

Pony rides, hay rides and a petting zoo will keep the family entertained for hours. Food will be available.

The Freedom Fun Day is the most important fund-raiser of the year for the South Carroll Business Association. The group traditionally has directed proceeds toward its "Growing Beautiful Eldersburg" project.

This beautification program has resulted in the planting of 180 trees and shrubs along Liberty Road in Eldersburg. This year's proceeds also will benefit the project.
