Police Blotter is a sampling of crimes in Baltimore city and county.

Central District

Shooting: A 37-year-old sedan driver was shot during a robbery at St. Paul Street and West Lafayette Avenue about 7: 15 p.m. Sunday. The driver for Statewide Transportation Sedan Service had just dropped off a customer when two men approached the car and demanded money. One of the men punched the driver repeatedly in the face; the other shot him as he was reaching in his pocket for money. Police think the assailants got between $12 to $20.

Southeastern District

Stolen cars: Two 1998 Mercedes-Benz automobiles were stolen from Leaseway Motor Transportation Co. in the 5900 block of Holabird Ave. about 1: 30 a.m. Sunday.

Eastern District

Larceny: Police were seeking a 20-year-old man who allegedly stole his cousin's bicycle, worth about $200, from the 1800 block of Montford Ave. over the weekend. The 15-year-old victim reported the bicycle stolen about 2 p.m. Sunday.

Assault and robbery: A 40-year-old man was robbed at gunpoint of $67 shortly before 1 a.m. Sunday in the 1600 block of Milton Ave. The unidentified male assailant fled after the attack.

Western District

Armed assault and robbery: A man assaulted a woman and robbed her of an tape player and $225 in cash about 1 p.m. Sunday in the 2500 block of Pennsylvania Ave. The assailant fled on foot.

Larceny of a handgun: A man who lives in the 700 block of Cumberland St. reported his .38-caliber handgun stolen Sunday. According to police, the gun was stolen from the man's bedroom between May 15 and Aug. 31.

Stolen Auto: A Southwest Baltimore woman reported shortly before 9 a.m. Sunday that her 1986 Jeep Cherokee had been stolen from the 2100 block of Braddish Ave. She reported that the car was stolen between 2: 30 a.m. and 8: 45 a.m.

Shooting: An unknown assailant shot a man in the right leg about 3 p.m. Saturday in the 1000 block of N. Bentalou St.

Wilkens Precinct

Theft: A man from Halifax, Mass., was robbed of his car and wallet while sleeping at the Days Inn in the 5800 block of the Baltimore National Pike shortly after 8 a.m. Sunday. The victim's 1994 Taurus was found about a mile away, but the car's compact disc player and the man's wallet were not recovered.

Burglary: Tools worth about $600 were stolen shortly after midnight Sunday from Ring's Texaco in the 1300 block of Linden Ave. Police said someone broke through a door panel to steal the property. The burglary was discovered about 1: 30 a.m.

Towson Precinct

Burglary: Several bicycles were stolen from a home in the 1700 block of E. Joppa Road about 11: 30 p.m. Friday. Someone threw a rock through a window to gain access to the home.

Robbery: A man assaulted a woman and robbed her of silver bracelets, a watch and $350 cash in the 800 block of Kenilworth Ave. about 8: 30 p.m. Friday.

Cockeysville Precinct

Burglary: A telephone and other property worth a total of $425 was stolen from a home in the 1500 block of Charmuth Road on Saturday. Entry was gained by breaking a basement window.

Burglary: A vacuum cleaner and $300 cash were taken from a home in the first block of Warren Lodge Court over the weekend. The burglary was reported Saturday. Entry was gained by prying open a rear window.
