A knife-wielding man robbed a Sykesville convenience store before fleeing on foot with an undisclosed sum of money Wednesday night, police said.
Investigators said the robber entered the High's store in the 6200 block of Sykesville Road at 9: 20 p.m., pulled a large knife and demanded that the clerk turn over money from the register.
The suspect is described as white, 30 years old, 6 feet tall and having light brown hair and a mustache. He wore a blue hooded Windbreaker, sunglasses, light-colored jeans, dark cloth gloves and tennis shoes.

Sykesville: Firefighters assisted Howard County at 12: 53 p.m. Wednesday, responding to a house fire in the 14000 block of Mustang Path Drive. Units were out 25 minutes.

Sykesville: A High's convenience store employee told police that someone broke into the store in the 3900 block of Sykesville Road early Sunday and stole money. The loss was estimated at $382.
