Sara N. Smith has been awarded the Stewart W. Myers Memorial Scholarship by Stu's Music Shop of Westminster.
A 1997 graduate of North Carroll High School, she was principal flutist for the All-County Band, and was in the All-County Orchestra and Maryland All-State Band.
She received superior ratings at the county and state solo and ensemble festivals and earned second place in the 1997 Young Flutist competition.
Sara plans to attend Indiana University as a music major.
She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Broumas.
