County police arrested a Linthicum man Sunday on charges of hitting his neighbor in the head with a pitchfork.

William Hernandez, 33, of the 200 block of Maryland Ave., was charged with first-degree assault and reckless endangerment.

Harry D. Glenn, 48, also of the 200 block of Maryland Ave., was treated by paramedics for puncture wounds to the head and neck, police said.

Police said Hernandez was gardening about 3 p.m. and said his neighbor continually annoyed him.

Police said the gardener lost his temper and hit his neighbor in the head with the pitchfork he had been using. It was not clear what the neighbor was doing to make the man angry.
