Balto. Co. groups honor educators and ex-delegate

The Teachers Association of Baltimore County (TABCO) and Baltimore County Instructional Assistants and Clerical Employees have honored 16 teachers, an instructional assistant, clerical worker and a former state delegate for outstanding service.

Teachers honored by TABCO include: Shirley Amprey of Stemmers Run Middle; Antoinette Averbach, Glyndon Elementary; Jim Burge, Parkville High; Donna Gastrich, Warren Elementary; Elizabeth Heiser, Kingsville Elementary; Henry Hornung, Woodbridge Elementary; Frankie Snyder, Holabird Middle; and Mary Ann Papafotis Rigopoulos, Deep Creek Elementary.

"Rookie Teachers of the Year" include David Cooper of Patapsco High; Bao Dam, Logan Elementary; Celeste Darden, Mars Estates; Mary Ann Gitters, Riverview Elementary; Dan Martino, Owings Mills Elementary; Brian Neal, Hebbville Elementary; Lisa Norrington, Patapsco High; and Megan O'Brien Woolston, Kenwood High.

The teachers group also gave a "friend of education" award to the late E. Farrell Maddox Sr., former state delegate. The instructional and clerical workers' group honored Pinewood Elementary's clerical worker Marge Ibex and instructional assistant Helen Stuart.
