Police Blotter is a sampling of crimes in Howard County.

Ellicott City: 3200 block of Corporate Court: Someone broke into the offices of ETR Creative Resources Friday or Saturday by reaching through the mail slot in the front door and freeing the lock. Cash was stolen from the office.

Long Reach: 8700 block of Cloudleap Court: The glass in the front door of United Optical was broken Saturday. Police were unable to determine if anything was missing.

Owen Brown: 7100 block of Minstrel Way: Someone ransacked the inside of an auto parts store Saturday, but nothing appears to have been taken.

Oakland Mills: 5700 block of Stevens Forest Road: Someone broke into an apartment Saturday while the resident was taking a shower. A pager, cash and wallet were stolen.

Long Reach: 8500 block of Davis Road: While a resident was working in the garden, someone walked into the house through the unlocked kitchen door. Cash, credit cards and a purse were stolen.

Harper's Choice: 5900 block of Woodcutters Way: A house was broken into Sunday when someone climbed through a rear basement window. A videocassette recorder, portable compact disc player, stereo and coins were stolen.

Kings Contrivance: 8900 block of Guilford Road: Someone broke into the offices of Caremark Inc. on Saturday, but apparently nothing was stolen.

Harper's Search: 5400 block of Columbus Road: Someone broke into a storage room outside a house between Wednesday and Saturday. Golf clubs and medical equipment were stolen.

Harper's Choice: 11000 block of Two Ships Court: A red moped was stolen from an unlocked shed between Wednesday and Saturday.

Hickory Ridge: 10900 block of Trottingridge Road: A red, two-door 1991 Toyota Celica, Maryland license plate BGL-098, was stolen Friday.

Dorsey: 7600 block of U.S. 1: Howard County police arrested a 26-year-old Baltimore man Saturday and charged him with attempted breaking and entering.

Dorsey: 6800 block of Douglas Legum Drive: Someone broke into the Dorsey Cleaners on Saturday. Nothing was taken.

Dorsey: 8200 block of Preston Court: Someone broke the lock out of the front doors to Joe's Deli Place Saturday, but nothing appears to have been stolen.
