New positions

Demers appointed to McCormick post

McCormick & Co. has appointed Frederick G. Demers as human relations manager for its research and development division. He also will be responsible for human relations support for the flavors division and former McCormick & Wild personnel.

The Roland Park resident is a certified compensation professional and a member of the board of the Chesapeake Human Resources Association. He is an MBA graduate of the University of North Carolina and is currently enrolled in a master's program in organization development at American University.

Leo managing director at First National's AIA

Allied Investment Advisors has selected J. Eric Leo as managing director and director of equity investments. Before joining the Baltimore-based subsidiary of the First National Bank of Maryland, Leo managed portfolios and equity assets for more than 25 years. He was most recently executive vice president and chief investment officer of Legg Mason Capital Management. A business graduate of the University of Richmond, the Reisterstown resident is an officer in the U.S. Naval Reserve.

Una M. Perez joins Hodes, Ulman law firm

Hodes, Ulman, Pessin & Katz admitted Una M. Perez to the Towson-based regional law firm as an associate in its litigation department.

A member of the American, Maryland and Baltimore County bar associations, she is a law graduate of Georgetown University.

Health care

Carroll County General appoints Christina Younger

Carroll County General Hospital chose Christina Younger as vice president for human resources and organizational development.

The Ellicott City resident formerly was director of human resources for Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center. She is a graduate of the College of St. Rose, in Albany, N.Y., and holds a master's degree in educational psychology.

McGee senior vice president at MEDEX Assistance Corp.

MEDEX Assistance Corp. has named Linda McGee as senior vice president. The eight-year executive had been vice president of sales and marketing for the Timonium-based AVEMCO Insurance subsidiary, which provides emergency care assistance for travelers outside their own country. McGee will have direct management authority and oversee coordination of all operations. An MBA graduate of Loyola College, she resides in Bel Air.


Joseph Siemek joins Wallace, Montgomery

Wallace, Montgomery & Associates announced that Joseph J. Siemek has joined the Towson structural engineering firm as an associate. He will head the environmental department and have responsibility for water, pollution control and solid- and water-waste projects. An engineering graduate of Johns Hopkins University, he holds an MBA from Loyola College.
