Science Center Honors Scientist, Engineer

The Maryland Science Center has named 38-year-old Philip A. Beachy of Baltimore, an associate professor at the Johns Hopkins University, "outstanding young scientist of 1997" for his work in embryology.

The center also named 39-year-old Jerry Ladd Prince of Lutherville, associate professor of engineering at Hopkins, "outstanding young engineer" for his efforts in medical computer imaging.

Each will receive the Allan C. Davis Medal and $2,500 in the annual awards this week during Maryland Science Week.
