A car was found burning on the parking lot of Columbia's Oakland Mills High School early yesterday, officials from the state fire marshal's office said.

At 1: 50 a.m., members of the Howard County Department of Fire and Rescue responded to a report of an explosion at Oakland Mills High in the 9400 block of Kilimanjaro Road.

When they arrived, firefighters found a 1991 two-door Nissan engulfed in flames.

No one was hurt, and the school was not affected by the blaze, officials said. Firefighters were investigating the incident.

Officials said the car, which received an estimated $5,000 in damage, was registered to Tawanna Epps, 31, of the 16300 block of Yeho Road in Sparks in northern Baltimore County.

Epps could not be reached for comment yesterday.
