No. 3 Hopkins Tops No. 12 Hofstra, 8-5

Dudley Dixon scored three goals and added an assist to help No. 3 Johns Hopkins defeat No. 12 Hofstra, 8-5, before a Hofstra Stadium record crowd of 8,873 in men's college lacrosse last night. The old record of 8,023 was set during a 1960 football game between Long Island and C.W. Post. The Blue Jays (8-3) lead the series 8-1.


Johns Hopkins 8, Western Maryland 7: Freshman Danielle Maschuci scored the tying and winning goals to lead the visiting Blue Jays (8-3, 7-0) over the Green Terror (8-4, 5-4) in a Centennial Conference game.

Goucher 20, Marymount (Va.) 6: Beth Edwards (Hereford) scored a career-high eight goals and junior attack Kristin Carey (Towson) had seven goals to lead two-time defending champion Goucher (4-9) past visiting Marymount (5-11) in a Capital Athletic Conference tournament quarterfinal.
