Stars Coming To Westminster To Shoot Movie

April 23, 1997

Actress Kirstie Alley has been signed to co-star with Tim Allen in the Universal Studios film "For Richer or Poorer" -- coming soon to Westminster's East Main Street, according to the studio publicist's office in New York.

Filming has been tentatively planned next month, depending upon the weather, and will require closing Main Street for at least one day to allow horse-and-buggy teams' use of the roadway.

The film will be shot outdoors at a Carroll County farm and in Baltimore, with interiors at a facility in Glen Burnie. The story is set in the present; Carroll County will be standing in for the Amish countryside of Lancaster County, Pa.

Emmy award-winner Alley was a cast member in the "Cheers" television series and a co-star in the "Look Who's Talking" movies. Allen has made several successful movies recently, while starring in the popular television sitcom "Home Improvement."
