Church Postpones Saturday Tea

EPIPHANY EPISCOPAL Church regrets that it must postpone the English Country Tea scheduled for Saturday. The Odenton Heritage Society Bank Building Open House, planned in conjunction with the tea, also has been postponed. A new date will be posted in this column when it is scheduled.

Ready for kindergarten?

Odenton Elementary School is sponsoring a family activity hour for children ages 4 and 5 who will enter kindergarten next year and their parents, from 6: 30 p.m. to 7: 30 p.m. April 30 at the school.

The event is presented by the school's kindergarten teachers and the Parents as Teachers Team. Gifts and snacks will be provided for each family. Registration is required. Information: 410-551-5208.

Child care will be available by reservation. Infants must be brought in strollers or car seats.

Bake sale

The Kiwanis Club of Odenton will hold its monthly bake sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Super Fresh in Odenton Shopping Center. Proceeds will help pay for youth and community-service projects. Information: Jean McConville, 410-923-6251; or Donna Kulak, 301-621-7277.

Cooked to order

The Post Commander of American Legion Post 276 will cook your New York strip steak to order at the post's steak dinner, 6: 30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday. Baked potatoes and salad go with the steaks. The cost is $7.50.

After dinner, dance to the music of Sound Decision from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m.

Stroke screening

The O'Malley Senior Center is sponsoring a screening for potential stroke victims from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday.

The screening, conducted by Mobile Screening Authority, a health and wellness company with state-of-the-art equipment, can check for blockage of the arteries and other conditions that may lead to a stroke. It's painless and takes less than 10 minutes.

The cost is $45 to Anne Arundel County Senior Center members. Registration is required.

Flea market

Don't forget about the flea market sponsored by the United Methodist Women from Nichols Bethel United Methodist Church, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday in the church hall, Route 175, Odenton.
