Kelbaugh, Sortman, Austin named to Brightwater posts

Brightwater Inc. announced the selection of Linda Kelbaugh as vice president and the appointments of Vince Sortman and Darcy Austin as project managers.

Kelbaugh, a Catonsville resident and graduate of Towson State University, was chief of the environmental programs division of the State Highway Administration before joining the Ellicott City-based environmental consulting firm.

Sortman was formerly an evaluator in the storm water management program of the Maryland Department of the Environment. He is a graduate of the University of Colorado and resides in Randallstown. Austin, also formerly with the Maryland Department of the Environment, was head of the small creeks and estuary program. A Johns Hopkins University graduate, she lives in Towson.

Guardian appoints Burdette to commercial sales

Guardian Mechanical Services announced the appointment of Ira Burdette to the commercial sales division of the Baltimore-headquartered plumbing and heating contractor. A 30-year veteran of the mechanical services industry, he will focus on commercial service agreements and all phases of mechanical retro-fitting operations. A resident of Keymar in Carroll County, he is active in the Ginganore Grange and the 4-H movement.

AXENT assigns Holland to European sales job

AXENT Technologies has appointed John Holland vice president of European operations. In that capacity, he will direct European sales, marketing and service operations. Before his appointment, Holland was director of international channels for the Rockville-based provider of computer security systems.

IMRE & Associates adds Oliver to account staff

IMRE & Associates, a Towson strategic marketing and public relations firm, has added Elizabeth Oliver as an assistant account executive. She was formerly with the Baltimore agency of Hartt & Co. The Western Maryland College graduate also served an internship on the public relations staff at the National Aquarium. The Cockeysville resident was a member of the Communications Honor Society while at Western Maryland.

Jonathan A. Hodgson joins Annapolis law firm

Hyatt, Peters & Weber announced the admission of Jonathan A. Hodgson to the Annapolis law firm. An expert in administrative, zoning, labor and employment law, Hodgson formerly served as city attorney for Annapolis and is counsel for the Greater Annapolis Chamber of Commerce.

Crestar names Paul Brown to Maryland retail division

Crestar Bank named Paul G. Brown senior vice president and market manager for the Richmond-based financial institution's Maryland retail division. Formerly with Citizens Bank as senior vice president of retail banking, he will oversee Crestar's 16 branches and business development for the city, Eastern Shore and most metropolitan counties. A mathematics graduate of Bucknell University, he resides in Ellicott City.

Propst to direct marketing for BayWoods community

BayWoods, the newly developed Annapolis life care/retirement community, has chosen Jim Propst as its marketing director. An experienced manager in retirement community marketing and sales, he was most recently marketing director at Franciscan Oaks in New Jersey. He served in the same capacity at communities in California and Arizona.


Clifton Gunderson appoints Bantum to Baltimore slot

Clifton Gunderson, a national firm of accountants and consultants, appointed Raymond Bantum as manager for its Baltimore office. He will also work in the management advisory services department, specializing in systems analysis and design, training and accounting systems installation. A University of Baltimore graduate, he is a certified public accountant and is active in the National Association of Black Accountants, the Institute of Certified Computer Professionals and the Institute of Management Consultants.

Hamilton to be consultant for Corridor in Owings Mills

Corridor Commercial Real Estate Group has added Steve Hamilton Jr. to its Owings Mill office staff as a consultant. The former Struever Bros., Eccles & Rouse broker and development director will focus on Baltimore and the metropolitan counties. Besides being licensed in real estate, Hamilton, a graduate of Howard University, is a licensed pharmacist.
