BOWIE -- Johnny Isom homered and drove in five runs to lead the Bowie Baysox to an 8-4 victory over the Trenton Thunder yesterday in a Double-A Eastern League game at Prince George's County Stadium.

Melvin Rosario gave the Baysox (9-4) a 1-0 lead with the team's third straight single to open the game. Later in the inning, Isom hit a three-run shot off Jim Farrell (1-1) with two outs to stretch the lead to 4-0.

That lead remained until the sixth inning, when Tony DeRosso and Aaron Fuller stroked doubles to cut the lead to 4-1 for the Thunder (9-6).

Isom singled in a run in the bottom of the sixth to increase the lead to 5-1 and his RBI infield single in the seventh stretched the lead to 7-2.

Steve Montgomery (2-0) allowed four hits and two runs over six innings to earn the win. He didn't walk a batter and struck out five.
