County police said they arrested a man Tuesday after they found him smoking marijuana in a car parked in Glen Burnie.

Anthony Alston, 29, of no fixed address was charged with possession of marijuana.

Police got an anonymous call shortly before 8 p.m. that someone was sitting in a black Mazda parked in the 100 block of Warwickshire Lane smoking marijuana.

An officer went to the address and asked the man if he had any drugs in the car, and the man pulled out a small bag of what later tested positive for marijuana. The man was arrested and police seized the 1992 car.

2 arrested after car chase in Glen Burnie, Baltimore

A car chase through Glen Burnie and Baltimore yesterday led to the arrest of a Glen Burnie man on drug charges and of a Pasadena man on theft charges, county police said.

George Alexander Henson Jr., 26, of the 7300 block of Green Acres Drive in Glen Burnie was charged with drug possession, fleeing police officers, theft and several traffic charges. Patrick Vincent Allen, 23, of the 7700 block of Freetown Road in Pasadena was charged with theft.

Officer Richard Schinzel saw a 1974 Chevrolet Nova leaving Route 10 at the eastbound Ordnance Road exit shortly after 3 a.m. The car was weaving and did not have headlights on, police said.

Schinzel tried to pull the car over, but the driver refused to stop and continued on Ordnance Road into the city, where it turned right on Hawkins Point Road and back into Anne Arundel County on Fort Smallwood Road. The driver made U-turns along the way, officers said.

The car stopped on Green Acres Drive near Marley Neck Boulevard, and the driver and passenger jumped out and ran.

Police caught both men in nearby woods and arrested them. Police said they found several small bags of what later tested positive for crack cocaine and $64 on the driver and later learned that the car's tags had been stolen.

County police arrested three people on drug charges and seized a car Monday after the three were allegedly found with a smoking pipe in Freetown Village.

Jennifer Lee Jenkins, 19, of the 100 block of W. Pasadena Road in Millersville; Linda Helen Viands, 37, of the first block of Ritchie Highway in Pasadena; and Delmus Marshall Rice Jr., 35, of the 200 block of S.W. Poplar Road in Millersville were charged with possession of crack cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Officer Rick Morris was in the 7800 block of Levy Court in Freetown Village shortly after 3 a.m. when he saw three people sitting in a 1992 Mitsubishi Eclipse. Morris looked in the car and said he saw a metal smoking pipe, police said.

Police said they arrested the three, searched the car and found two more pipes and a small bag of what later tested positive for crack cocaine.

Police said they also found a small amount of marijuana and $78 on Rice, which they seized.
