Bicycle patrol arrests Laurel man on drug charges

Two county bicycle patrol officers arrested a Laurel man Friday on drug charges after they stopped to investigate three people they saw loitering in an apartment building breezeway.

Herbert Rashaad Wyatt, 19, of the 3500 block of Fort Meade Road was charged with possession and possession with intent to distribute marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Officers William Caputo and Jeff Shelton were on bicycle patrol in Tall Oaks Apartments in Laurel just before 2: 30 p.m. when they saw three people loitering in a breezeway.

The officers found one man, man who was younger than 21 drinking alcohol in public. They arrested him, searched him and found drug paraphernalia and 40.4 grams of what later tested positive for marijuana.
