Hazardous wastes can be disposed of Friday

Anne Arundel County residents can dispose of unwanted cleaners, pesticides, batteries and other hazardous household wastes Friday at Heritage Office Complex, 2662 Riva Road, Annapolis.

Representatives of the Recycling Division of the Department of Public Works will be on hand from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. to accept hazardous wastes at the government office park next to Annapolis High School.

The program is open only to county residents. Participants must show driver's licenses as proof of residence.

Other waste-disposal dates are:

May 17, Western District roads yard, 1427 Ducken St., Odenton.

June 21, Sudley Convenience Center, 5400 Nutwell Sudley Road, West River.

July 19, Glen Burnie Convenience Center, 100 Dover Road, Glen Burnie.

Aug. 16, Heritage Office Complex.

Sept. 20, Western District roads yard.

Oct. 18, Glen Burnie Convenience Center.

The hours each day are 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

For safety, participants should keep items in original containers and not mix items.
