Howze named to Sun ad post

Lenora Howze, the advertising/marketing division manager for The Baltimore Sun Co., has been promoted to division manager for classified advertising.

The Baltimore resident will assume that post May 5.

"Lenora's extraordinary energy level ensures her success in this division," Hilary Schneider, vice president for sales at The Sun, said in a prepared statement.

Howze, 37, joined The Sun in 1990 as telemarketing manager.

In 1994, she became national advertising sales manager, and in 1996 was named manager of the advertising/marketing division.

Before coming to The Sun, Howze held management positions with Knight-Ridder newspapers in Philadelphia.
