New displays to be offered tomorrow and Sunday at center

The Historical Center in Manchester will be open from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. tomorrow and Sunday with new displays and some changes.

Artwork by elementary and middle school students, arranged by Marsha Peeling and Robin Reed, will be exhibited in the upstairs chambers. The exhibit will run through April 25.

Manchester Maniacs 4-H Club will present a program at 2 p.m. Sunday. Members will tell the story of a 300-year-old talking Lutheran White Oak.

A birthday party will be held to honor the white oak and the 125th anniversary of Arbor Day.

Manchester: Firefighters from Lineboro and Hampstead assisted Manchester at 9: 54 a.m. Wednesday, responding to a shed fire in the 3600 block of Schalk Road No. 1. Units were out 56 minutes.

Hampstead: Firefighters from Manchester assisted Hampstead at 4: 11 p.m. Wednesday, responding to a brush fire in the 2400 block of Fairmount Road. Units were out 40 minutes.

Lineboro: Firefighters responded at 8: 18 p.m. Wednesday to a woods fire in the 1100 block of Blue Hill Road. Units were out 39 minutes.
