W. Maryland rolls by Swarthmore, 18-1

Western Maryland blanked host Swarthmore for the final 47 minutes in an 18-1 Centennial Conference men's lacrosse victory yesterday.

The Green Terror (6-0, 1-0) dropped Swarthmore to 0-6, 0-1.

Widener 16, Goucher 14: Freshman attackman Tom Robson had five goals and an assist to lead Widener (3-3) past host Goucher (5-4).

No. 16 Hobart 15, Colgate 10: Hobart (2-2) scored five unanswered goals in a 6-1 third-quarter run to beat Colgate (3-5).

No. 7 Georgetown 24, Canisius 5: Senior attack Dan Brennan scored five goals to lead Georgetown (6-2) over visiting Canisius (0-4).

Women

St. Mary's 16, College of Notre Dame 8: Junior Kristi LaVardera (Loch Raven) had a career-high six goals to lead the host Seahawks (5-1).

Mary Washington 24, Goucher 11: Freshman midfielder Jamie Wissman (Mount de Sales) scored four goals and had three assists to help Mary Washington (6-2, 3-0) top host Goucher (2-6, 0-2).
