A deacon at a West Baltimore church who was charged with first-degree murder in a shooting in West Baltimore on Monday was released yesterday after posting a $50,000 bond, an official at the Central Booking and Intake Center said.

Ernest Arnold Jones, 49, of the 2500 block of Talbot Road, a deacon at Union Baptist Church in the 1200 block of Druid Hill Ave., was charged in the death of Frank Harrell, 45, of the 2900 block of Mosher St., who was shot in the head during an argument in the church-run coffee shop.

Police said Harrell, who was pronounced dead at the scene, worked in the church's coin-operated laundry.
