Police Blotter is a sampling of crimes in Baltimore and Baltimore County.

Central District

Shooting: A 21-year-old man was driving in the 500 block of W. Pratt St. about 3 a.m. yesterday when a passenger in a white Ford Taurus that pulled alongside fired at least one shot into the victim's car, hitting him in the upper left leg. The Taurus drove off. The victim was in stable condition yesterday at Maryland Shock Trauma Center.

Southeastern District

Stolen car: A 1988 Acura Legend with Pennsylvania tags BEK4541 was stolen Sunday in the 2800 block of Boston St.

Eastern District

Assault: A man was in the 3100 block of E. Monument St. on Sunday when he was attacked by several youths who struck him with their hands and bottles. The man was in good condition at Johns Hopkins Hospital yesterday.

Robbery: A woman was in the 1500 block of E. Preston St. about 2: 30 a.m. Sunday when two men assaulted her and robbed her of nearly $80.

Burglary: A known suspect entered a house in the 600 block of Bartlett Ave. on Sunday and stole a diamond ring valued at nearly $100.

Burglary: A television, stereo, amplifier, two videocassette recorders, telephones and a microwave oven, all valued at nearly $1,300, were stolen Sunday from a house in the 600 block of Gutman Ave.

Southwestern District

Theft/arrest: A man was arrested Sunday when he tried to leave the Super Fresh store in the 2400 block of Frederick Ave. without paying for steaks valued at more than $30.

Carjacking: A man armed with a plastic water gun assaulted a motorist in the 4600 block of Briarclift Road about 8 p.m. Sunday and stole the car he was driving, a 1989 Dodge Dynasty with dealer tags 1A12420. The motorist suffered a chest injury during a struggle and was treated at Maryland Shock Trauma Center.

Burglary: A compact disc player valued at $150 was stolen Sunday from a house in the 4300 block of Seminole Ave.

Theft/arrest: A man was arrested Sunday when he tried to leave Blockbuster Video in the 2400 block of Frederick Ave. without paying for three movie tapes valued at $60.

Northwestern District

Stolen car: A 1995 Toyota Camry with tags CLR 508 was stolen Sunday in the 5400 block of Jonquil Ave. Later, the car was involved in an accident with another car, and its driver failed to stop.

Robbery: After a minor accident between two vehicles in Druid Hill Park about 7 p.m. Sunday, one of several youths in one of the cars pulled a handgun and robbed the other driver of $50. Police said the man's wife and five children witnessed the robbery.

Northern District

Burglary: A gas-operated leaf blower, extension ladder, rakes and a hedge clipper were stolen Sunday from a shed in the 2100 block of Northcliff Drive.

Theft from vehicle: Cash, credit cards and other property, all valued at more than $200, were stolen Sunday from a 1996 Honda parked in the 3100 block of Swan Drive in Druid Hill Park.

Theft: A cellular telephone valued at $200 was stolen Sunday from a 1990 Mercedes-Benz parked in the first block of E. 35th St.

Robbery: Two men were in the 2500 block of W. Cold Spring Lane about 9: 25 p.m. Sunday when a gunman robbed them of several pieces of gold jewelry, all valued at more than $200.

White Marsh Precinct

Burglary: Someone broke a glass door and entered the Hecht Co. department store at Golden Ring Mall in the 6400 block of Rossville Blvd. early Sunday. The intruder left a trail of blood throughout the store. It was not immediately known if any property was stolen, and police alerted area hospitals for someone seeking treatment for a serious laceration.
