Two Baltimore County youths have been arrested after police said they stole a car in Ellicott City, drove into Baltimore County and crashed into a pickup truck.

Bill Toohey, a Baltimore County police spokesman, said two Lansdowne boys -- ages 15 and 12 -- stole the 1994 Plymouth Horizon from the 3600 block of Hollow Fields Court in Ellicott City around 4: 45 p.m. Wednesday.

Toohey said the juveniles' joy-ride through the southern portion of Baltimore County ended when their car went through a stop sign on Hollins Ferry Road at Bero Road in Lansdowne, crashing into a Dodge pickup truck that was moving through the intersection.

That crash was observed by Baltimore County officers in a police car that had just gone through the intersection.

The youths bailed out of the car and the officers arrested the pair after a brief chase, Toohey said.

They were handed over to juvenile authorities.

The two occupants of the truck were treated at St. Agnes Hospital in Baltimore and released Toohey said.
