Board OKs expansion of retail building

Carroll County Board of Zoning Appeals has approved an expansion of a nonconforming use of a building at 2824 Littlestown Pike, north of Westminster.

Ronald M. Singer of Reisterstown asked to expand his retail store and liquor establishment, Ye Olde Bottle Shop, to include a country store.

The country store would be a deli-carryout and grocery store. Hours would be from 5 a.m. or 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. or 11 p.m.

Singer also requested permission to erect a sign for the business that would conform with the zoning ordinance.

Fire

Reese: Firefighters responded at 12: 24 a.m. yesterday to burning electrical wires in the 900 block of Hook Road. Units were out 21 minutes.

Police

Westminster: A Charles Street resident told police Tuesday that someone cracked the windshield of his vehicle while it was parked outside his home. Damage was estimated at $100.

Westminster: A Halter Road resident told police Tuesday that someone scratched the hood of his vehicle while it was parked at Cranberry Mall. Damage was estimated at $200.
