Laurel man robbed at gunpoint at ATM

March 25, 1997

A Laurel man was robbed of $140 at a Laurel bank branch's automated teller machine Saturday by a man who shoved a gun into his face, county police said.

Jeffrey Arlen Woodard, 37, told police he was withdrawing money from the ATM at the Citizens National Bank branch on Route 198 shortly after 2 a.m. when a man approached him and held a gun to his face.

The man demanded money, and Woodard complied.

The gunman ran across Route 198 toward the Drexel Park Apartments, police said.

Officers used a dog to track the man but did not find him.

Police did not have a description of the gunman.
