March 19, 1997|BY A SUN STAFF WRITER

A man was electrocuted yesterday when the crane boom on a truck he was parking touched an overhead utility wire in the 1400 block of Rome Road in Violetville, a Baltimore County Fire Department spokesman said.

Battalion Chief Mark Hubbard, the spokesman, said Kip Carter, 23, of the 100 block of Church Lane in Cockeysville was parking the vehicle, equipped with what is commonly known as a cherry picker, at Free State Industries about 1: 20 p.m. when the accident occurred.

He said Maryland Occupational Safety and Health was investigating.
