Man, 37, charged with assaulting 3 women, snatching their purses

Howard County police have arrested a 37-year-old man who allegedly assaulted and robbed three women of their purses last week in Columbia.

According to court documents, Larry Davis, who has no known address, was arrested Saturday and charged with three counts of robbery, assault in the second and third degrees, three counts of misdemeanor theft and possession of cocaine and drug paraphernalia.

Police said Davis was picked up in the 10300 block of Twin Rivers Road in Wilde Lake village in connection with these three robberies: Snatching a woman's purse from her shoulder Thursday as she stood at her mailbox in the 10800 block of Green Mountain Circle in the Wilde Lake village.

Taking the purse of a woman who was accosted in the Giant Food parking lot in Wilde Lake Village Center on Friday.

Stealing the purse of a 79-year-old woman who was pushed against her car in the 5200 block of West Running Brook Drive on Thursday.

None of the women was injured during the robberies.

Davis was being held at the Howard County Detention Center on $100,000 bail.
