Federal agents in Honolulu are searching for a convicted murderer who was serving a life sentence when she escaped from a Maryland prison in 1979.

Theresa Marie Grosso, 48, a former Baltimore resident, is believed to be on Kauai, Hawaii, the FBI said yesterday. She was a stripper on The Block in 1969 when she fatally shot Melvin N. Luckart, 28, the doorman at Judge's Bar in North Baltimore, who had refused her entrance because she was intoxicated.

Grosso was convicted in 1970 and escaped from the Maryland Correctional Institution for Women-Jessup in 1979.
