Eldersburg man's condition serious day after accident

March 12, 1997

An Eldersburg man who was injured Monday in a three-vehicle accident remained in serious condition yesterday at the Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore.

Police said Joseph G. Markovic, 48, was traveling east on Route 26 in Eldersburg when he swerved into the westbound lanes to avoid hitting stopped vehicles.

Markovic's car struck the side of a Honda Accord driven by Vivian W. Bussman, 52, of Sykesville, and then collided with a truck driven by Paul J. Craig, 43, of Randallstown, police said.

Bussman and Craig refused medical treatment, police said.

An investigation is continuing.
