Police Blotter is a sampling of crimes in Baltimore and Baltimore County.

Southeastern District

Shooting: A resident of the 1000 block of N. Kenwood Ave. was shot in the left arm during an attempted robbery in the 3100 block of Fleet St. about midnight Monday. He was in fair condition at Johns Hopkins Hospital.

Central District

Robbery: A Towson State University student was walking in the 1000 block of N. Charles St. about 6 a.m. yesterday when two men, one with a handgun, robbed him of $65, two bags of work clothes and a set of keys.

Burglary: An office was ransacked at the Charles Theater in the 1700 block of N. Charles St. between Monday and yesterday but nothing appeared missing.

Northeastern District

Stolen car: A 1996 teal-colored Hyundai with vanity tags QIK85 was stolen Monday in the 4900 block of Crenshaw Ave.

Burglary: Four bikes were stolen from Walmsley Brothers in the 5600 block of Belair Road on Monday. Entry was gained by breaking a window. Northern District

Theft from vehicle: Fishing equipment valued at $300 was stolen Monday from a 1987 Mitsubishi parked in the 500 block of W. University Parkway.

Northwestern District

Knock & rob: After answering her door about 5: 10 p.m. Monday, an elderly woman from the 7000 block of Surrey Drive was pushed into the living room by a man who robbed her of $30, eyeglasses and a wallet. Before fleeing, the man disconnected the victim's telephone. The woman suffered minor injuries.

Western District

Drug arrest: Officer James Crowley arrested a 35-year-old man in the 700 block of N. Carey St. about 5 p.m. Monday and charged him with possession of 13 bags of suspected marijuana.

Shooting: A 23-year-old man was in the 1300 block of N. Fremont Ave. about 10: 30 p.m. Monday, standing next to another man who was using an outside telephone. A gunman appeared and fired several shots from a handgun at the man talking on the phone, missing him but shooting the first man in the leg. The victim was in stable condition at Maryland Shock Trauma Center yesterday.

Southwestern District

Shooting: A 28-year-old man was selling drugs in the 3800 block of Garrison Blvd. about 11 p.m. Monday when three gunman fired several shots at him, hitting him in the left foot. The victim was treated at Liberty Medical Center.

White Marsh Precinct

Robbery try: A man was in the 9000 block of Yellow Brick Road about 8 p.m. Monday when he was assaulted by another man, who demanded his keys. The victim threw the keys into a woods and later retrieved them.

Parkville Precinct

Robbery try: A woman was in the 9200 block of Seven Courts Drive about 6: 40 p.m. Monday when two teen-age boys tried to steal her purse. When the woman resisted, they fled.

For the Record

Suspect sought: City police have issued a warrant charging Coleman Scott, 34, of no fixed address, with first-degree murder in the death of Viola Elizabeth Jones, 29, also of no fixed address. Jones' body -- her hands and feet tied -- was found wrapped in a blanket Nov. 9 in a vacant apartment above the Hair Dynasty beauty salon in the 400 block of W. Saratoga St. A cause of death was not determined. Metro Crime Stoppers (276-8888) is offering a reward of up to $2,000 for information leading to the suspect's arrest.
