Police Blotter is a sampling of crimes in Baltimore and Baltimore County.

Central District

Bank robbery: Shortly after a man robbed the Signet Bank in the first block of St. Paul St. about 11: 50 a.m. yesterday, a dye pack hidden in the money exploded. He escaped. Police found residue from the dye pack on the pavement in the first block of Wilkes Lane, a few blocks from the bank.

Theft: Police suspect a female client in a drug treatment program in the 100 block of Sutton Place stole a counselor's jacket, $200 in cash and his paycheck yesterday. The suspect feigned illness and the counselor was robbed while he was getting medicine for her.

Northern District

Bank robbery: A man robbed Provident Bank of Maryland in the 1000 block of W. 36th St. yesterday after giving a teller a holdup note.

Robbery: Two men, one with a handgun, robbed Papa John's Pizza in the 300 block of E. 33rd St. of more than $300 and three employees of more than $500 about 10 p.m. Sunday.

Burglary: A videocassette recorder, 50 tapes and several cartons of cigarettes, valued at more than $1,600, were stolen Sunday from Fun Fair Food Mart in the 3000 block of Greenmount Ave.

Burglary: Several oil paintings, a videocassette recorder, four VCR tapes, a flashlight and a watch, all valued at more than $5,000, were stolen from Lisa's, a coffeehouse in the 2100 block of N. Charles St., between Friday and Sunday.

Northwestern District

Robbery: A man was in the 3600 block of Mohawk Ave. about 7 p.m. Sunday when three men, one with a large-caliber handgun, nTC robbed him of cash and property, all valued at more than $150.

Western District

Robbery: A man armed with what appeared to be an Uzi semiautomatic weapon robbed a man of $25 in the 900 block of N. Calhoun St. about 12: 15 a.m. Sunday.

Robbery: A 47-year-old man was walking in the alley behind the 2300 block of N. Monroe St. about 4 p.m. Sunday when two men, one with a handgun, robbed him of more than $150.

Southwestern District

Stolen car: Theft: While services were being held Sunday at Temple of Prayer Church in the 3100 block of Clifton Ave., four coats, valued at $1,000, were stolen from a cloak room.

North Point Precinct

Theft: Nearly $700 was stolen Sunday from a house in the 2800 block of Wells Ave.

Theft/arrest: A man tried to leave the Sears department store at Eastpoint Mall without paying for jeans valued at nearly $100 and was arrested Sunday.
