Salisbury tops Widener, 77-65, in Division III second round DeRichie's five 3-pointers lead Sea Gulls to victory

CHESTER, Pa. -- John DeRichie made five three-pointers and scored 16 points to lead Salisbury State to a 77-65 victory over Widener in an NCAA Division III tournament second-round game last night at the Schwartz Athletic Center.

Salisbury (24-5) next faces Brockport State (19-9) in the Northeast Region semifinals either Friday or Saturday.

DeRichie was 5-for-9 from three-point range and did not attempt a shot inside the arc. He made six three-pointers in a game twice this season and has at least one three-pointer in 68 consecutive games.

Overall, Salisbury was 10-for-18 from three-point range. Widener was 2-for-14.

Bill Lancaster added 15 points for the Sea Gulls and Randy Clark chipped in 13, including 11 in the second half.

The Sea Gulls led at halftime 36-28 and took their biggest lead, 58-38, with 10: 56 left.

David Kline scored 15 to pace Widener (23-6). Robb Holman added 12 and Gene Kelly 10.
