Vuckovic signs for two years

March 07, 1997|By Doug Brown

Bo Vuckovic, the Spirit's leading scorer who would have become a free agent at the end of the season, has signed a two-year contract.

Vuckovic, 26, acquired from the Tampa Bay Terror in November, four games into the season, is No. 8 in the NPSL in points (127) and was chosen for his first All-Star Game.

He has six hat tricks, nine two-goal games and has scored at least one point in 32 of 35 games.

"It was always our plan to sign Bo before the end of the season," general manager Drew Forrester said.

"He's one of the most productive young players in the NPSL and he'll only get better."
