Man dies in city when MTA bus runs over him

A man was killed last nightwhen he fell under the wheels of a Mass Transit Administration bus in the 5100 block of Reisterstown Road, an MTA spokesman reported.

The victim's identity was withheld pending notification of relatives.

Anthony Brown, an MTA spokesman, said the victim apparently was running to catch the M2 bus for Mondawmin Mall about 9: 05 p.m. when he slipped on the pavement and fell under the vehicle's rear wheels. The victim was pronounced dead about 9: 50 p.m. at Sinai Hospital, Brown said.

He said the driver, whose name was not released, was unaware the victim was running to the bus when she pulled away from the curb.
