A Pasadena teen-ager was in serious condition at Maryland Shock Trauma Center yesterday with injuries she suffered when she was run over by a police vehicle as she lay in an alley in Towson, a Baltimore County police spokesman said.

Sgt. Kevin Novak, the spokesman, said Shannon O'Brien, 15, of the 1700 block of Bayside Beach Road, suffered a broken hip and leg and head injuries when she was run over about 3: 10 a.m. yesterday by a police vehicle driven by Officer Steven Anderson.

Novak said that Anderson was responding to a car alarm that had sounded in an alley off the 8700 block of Lakawanna Ave. and thought that he had run over debris.

Novak said that the girl could not say how she ended up in the alley. The incident is being investigated, Novak said.
