EA Engineering, Science and Technology Inc., the Hunt Valley-based environmental services company, yesterday named Donald A. Deieso president and chief executive officer.

Deieso formerly was president and chief executive officer of Metcalf & Eddy Inc., a subsidiary of Air & Water Technologies Corp. of Branchburg, N.J.

DTC At EA, Deieso, 47, succeeds Loren D. Jensen, 59, the company's founder, who remains chairman.

`I am thrilled to have Don Deieso join the EA organization," Jensen said in a statement. "His experience and stature in industry matters will go a long way in reinforcing EA's premier position in the environmental service field."

Deieso was chief of the Environmental Protection Agency's Superfund program in Region II, which covers New York State, New Jersey, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands, and was an assistant commissioner in the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection.

He currently is chairman of the Environmental Technologies Trade Advisory Committee, a private-sector group formed by the U.S. secretary of commerce.
