Bullets tonight

February 27, 1997

Opponent: Los Angeles Lakers

Site: USAir Arena, Landover

Time: 7:30

TV/Radio: HTS/WWRC (980 AM)

Outlook: If there's ever a chance the Bullets can end a record of 0-17 against teams currently in either first or second in their division, this is it. The Lakers limp into town losers in four of their past five games, and without two starters. C Shaquille O'Neal, the team's leading scorer, is out for up to eight weeks with an injured left knee. F Robert Horry will miss approximately six weeks with an injured left knee. That leaves the scoring load on All-Star F Eddie Jones (17.0 ppg) and G Nick Van Exel (14.6 ppg). The Bullets are looking to put together back-to-back wins for the first time in a month ago. Washington was embarrassed in its last meeting against the Lakers, a 129-99 loss on Feb. 2 that played a role in Jim Lynam losing his job.
