Sharon Nevins, 33, runs the advertising division of Nevins & Associates. It's a "creative field and you can absolutely have fun with your clothes," she says.

But there's another side: "I have two small children, 5 and almost 2. Life is always crazy and getting dressed in the morning is always a challenge," Nevins says.

How do get out of the house in the mornings?

What's hanging in the closet is extremely important. I've organized my wardrobe so the pieces can work with each other. I can basically just grab something and go.

What designers keep you efficient?

I look for Donna Karan. She is probably my favorite American designer. Her trousers and blazers you can mix with each other. It's really easy to just grab something and go. Her clothes are tailored and professional, yet fun and funky.

Do you get dressed before the kids eat breakfast?

Yes. Sometimes after a spill, I do have to go back upstairs and grab a different jacket.

Where do you shop?

I'll go on record to say I miss Saks Fifth Avenue terribly. It's really difficult to find clothes I like in Baltimore. But there is the Red Garter, a little boutique in Pikesville. I shop there a lot. They have a lot of small sizes and I'm a size 2.

Where else do you shop?

I try to get to Washington or New York since Saks' departure. I go to Bloomingdale's in Washington or New York. And Nordstrom sometimes.

Where do you look for shoes?

Joanna Gray Shoes of London and Hess at Cross Keys. And New York Shoes in Owings Mills is at the top of the list. They have absolutely everything there.

Pants or skirts?

I'm definitely a pants person. Fortunately in my business, pantsuits are considered professional.

What do you throw on for weekend wear?

For casual clothes, the Banana Republic or The Gap for fun jeans and t-shirts. Or I just throw on blazers with jeans. I have no problem in Baltimore with casual clothes.

And for fancy occasions?

I definitely have a well-stocked black tie segment of my closet. We do go out quite a bit. My prize possession is a Pamela Dennis gown I got at Bergdorf Goodman, a silk, satin, pale, shimmery gray with a beaded halter top. it's fabulous. Also from the Red Garter, I have a great Gucci knock-off gown, I've worn a dozen times. It's just fantastic.

Do you wear accessories?

I'm big on scarves. I like to throw on scarves with certain outfits.

And jewelry?

I like silver a lot, against blacks and grays. I have earrings, necklaces and pins. I buy most of it at the American Craft Council fair in Baltimore. Every year, I try to pick up a couple of things.

What is one of your favorite things?

A Christian Lacroix bright pink blazer, I just throw on top of all black. It's just one of those forever blazers. It was a birthday present from my husband.

Any memorable fashion bloopers?

A couple of years ago, I was 9 months pregnant and we were going to a function at Towson State University. I was dressed in a sun dress and sandals. I asked my husband, "Am I dressed properly." He said, "You're fine, you're fine." We get to Towson State and walk into a sea full of tuxedos.
