10 at motel arrested on drug charges

Nine men and a woman have been released on personal recognizance after being arrested on marijuana and drug paraphernalia charges at a Westminster motel, court records show.

Police seized three bags of suspected marijuana, two smoking pipes and rolling papers after investigating a desk clerk's report of a suspicious odor about 12: 45 a.m. Sunday.

Arrested and charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia were:

Jose R. Barrera, 20, of Westminster; Rob R. Burgess, 19, of Finksburg; Dave W. Clark, 20, of Finksburg; Bradley B. Darago, 19, of Finksburg; Julie M. Hanle, 19, of Finksburg; Daniel R. Harrison, 20, of Westminster; Frank J. Horeeni, 20, of Reisterstown; John L. Hunt, 22, of Finksburg; Kevin D. Lanier, 20, of Finksburg; and Joseph H. Ledda, 19, of Sykesville.

Fire

Pleasant Valley: Firefighters responded at 3: 13 p.m. Sunday to a woods fire in the 2000 block of Leppo Road. Units were out one hour.

Westminster: Firefighters responded at 1: 52 p.m. Sunday to a brush fire in the 1600 block of Washington Road. Units were out 42 minutes.

Westminster: Firefighters responded at 10: 22 a.m. Sunday to a propane gas leak in the 300 block of E. Main St. Units were out 13 minutes.

Westminster: Firefighters from Reese assisted Westminster at 8: a.m. Sunday, responding to a fire alarm in the first block of Cranberry Road. Units were out eight minutes.

Westminster: Firefighters from Reese assisted Westminster at 7: p.m. Saturday, responding to a chimney fire in the 800 block of Lucabaugh Mill Road. Units were out 40 minutes.

Westminster: Firefighters from Reese assisted Westminster at 1: p.m. Saturday, responding to a fire alarm in the 800 block of Baltimore Blvd. Units were out 20 minutes.

Westminster: Firefighters responded at 3: 49 p.m. Saturday to burning electrical wires on Court Street. Units were out 13 minutes.

Police

Westminster: A resident of New Market, Pa., told police that personal property was stolen from his vehicle while it was parked Saturday at Jiffy Lube on North Center Street. The loss was estimated at $3,850.

Westminster: An employee of Bishop Garth Apartments told police that someone damaged a laundry room between 7 a.m. and 6: 20 p.m. Wednesday. Damage was estimated at $110.

Westminster: A resident of East Main Street told police that someone threw a bottle through the kitchen window of his home between 6 p.m. Friday and 4: 45 p.m. Saturday. Damage was estimated at $250.
