Capt. John Batchelor, of the pungy Thomas H. Bally Brown, caught a rockfish two feet long while dredging in the bay. He has had several offers to purchase the fish. -- The Sun, Feb. 15, 1897.

Several hundred Anne Arundel farmers and their wives attended the Farmers Institute in Annapolis yesterday. Governor Lowndes, who owns a farm, was present and spoke. -- The Sun, Feb. 26, 1897.

In Annapolis, Capt. John McDonough, of the schooner Michael McCabe, had a hearing on charges he refused to pay his crew who had worked for 35 days for the days or the month. The decision favored the crew. -- The Sun, Feb. 26, 1897.
