Police Blotter is a sampling of crimes in Baltimore and Baltimore County.

Northwestern District

Weapons seizure: Acting on information gathered in a monthlong investigation, members of the Northwestern District drug unit served two search warrants about 9 p.m. Wednesday that resulted in the seizure of five guns. The first warrant was served at a house in the 3000 block of Oakley Ave., where officers recovered a Calico .22-caliber assault rifle, a Tec-9 semiautomatic machine gun, a .380 semiautomatic handgun, a 12-gauge shotgun, a scale for weighing drugs, drug-packaging paraphernalia and $3,500. A 19-year-old suspect police were seeking was not home. At a house in the 5000 block of Queensberry Ave., police seized a .38-caliber revolver, a small amount of suspected cocaine and drug-packaging material. They arrested the 19-year-old twin brother of the suspect named in the first warrant.

Southeastern District

Armed robbery: A man who goes by the name "Jimbo" and had a knife came up to a 30-year-old woman in the 400 block of S. Linwood Ave. and took her bike, which was valued at $300.

Northeastern District

Armed robbery: A 30-year-old man was robbed of cash and his coat by a group of men after going to the 4600 block of Freedom Way late Wednesday to buy drugs. Police officers canvassed the area and found an 18-year-old man that the victim identified as one of the robbers.

Attempted stolen auto: An 85-year-old man living in the 2700 block of Evergreen Ave. reported that someone tried to steal his 1965 Chevrolet Bel Air by popping the ignition between Jan. 18 and Tuesday.

Woodlawn Precinct

Armed robbery: A 65-year-old man was approached by three youths about 8 p.m. Wednesday in the Woodmoor Shopping Center on Liberty Road. The youths demanded money, hit the victim in the head with a metal pipe, tackled and kicked him, and went through his pockets and took $17 and a pager.

Garrison Precinct

Destruction of Property: Someone vandalized at least two vehicles in the 6700 block of Alter St. between 7 p.m. and 8 p.m. Wednesday, breaking the driver's side window and mirror of one and shooting out windows of the other.

Towson Precinct

Armed robbery: A man entered a store in the 6600 block of Falls Road about 1 a.m. yesterday, told the clerk to give him the money from the register, and fled with $35. He was last seen heading south on Falls Road in a white van.

Armed robbery: A man who appeared to be about 20 years old approached the cashier's booth at a service station in the 2300 block of W. Joppa Road about 9: 30 p.m. Wednesday and asked for water. When the cashier opened the door to give him some water in a milk jug, the man pulled out a knife, forced open the door and took the money in the cash register. He ran away.

Essex Precinct

Armed robbery: A 42-year-old woman was in the kitchen of a tavern in the 9600 block of Pulaski Highway shortly before 7 a.m. yesterday when she heard a noise, went to the bar to investigate and saw a man leaning over the counter trying to open the cash register. The man said he had a gun. He took $100 from the register, $200 from the woman's pocketbook, and 12 bottles of liquor.
