An all-white wardrobe for Greek holiday

February 20, 1997|By Elsa Klensch | Elsa Klensch,Los Angeles Times Syndicate

My boyfriend and I are going on an island-hopping cruise in Greece this summer. Since we'll have minimal space in the cabin, I've decided to pack only white clothes. What do you think?

I couldn't agree more. White looks fresh and cool, even on the hottest days. At night, it can be glamorous or romantic.

At the Italian house of Les Copains, Mario Bandiera suggests building your wardrobe around a short crocheted sweater.

"The sweater will give a lift to every piece you put with it. It looks great with classic skirts or pants. You can wear it both day and evening, and it's easy to pack."

Bandiera notes that a wrap skirt is most comfortable in hot weather, and "it's also versatile. It looks as good with a jacket as it does with a soft shirt or blouse."
