Annapolis man and woman die in Del. collision

MIDDLETOWN, Del. -- Two Annapolis residents were killed Monday night when their car crossed the center line on Boyds Corner Road north of here and crashed into a delivery truck, police said.

Deron C. Wade was driving a 1996 Nissan Sentra west on Boyds Corner Road about 9: 15 p.m. when he crossed over to the eastbound lane and collided with a 1988 Ford truck, New Castle County police said.

Wade, 27, and his passenger, Jomika B. Jenkins, 25, who both suffered severe head injuries, were trapped in the car for more than an hour. Wade, of the 100 block of Chester Ave., and Jenkins, of the 1200 block of McGuckian St., were pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

Peter C. Grigsby, 23, of King George, Va., the truck driver, was treated for facial cuts at a local hospital.

None of the people involved in the accident were wearing seat belts, police said.
