Outlook: Loyola moved within a half-game of third-place St. Peter's in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference after Sunday's 77-68 win over Niagara. Freshman G Jason Rowe (13.4 ppg) continued his recent tear with 23 points, seven assists and five steals. Senior F Anthony Smith (16.2 ppg) had 25 points, eight rebounds and two blocks. Mike Powell (17.1 ppg), who had 35 points and 11 rebounds in an 85-76 win over Siena on Jan. 15, is playing despite a sprained right wrist. Siena defeated first-place Canisius, 61-57, Saturday.

Towson State (7-17) at West Virginia (14-8)

Outlook: Towson State coach Terry Truax notched his 200th career win Saturday when the Tigers defeated Maine, 80-70. Junior F Ralph Biggs had 21 points to lead four Tigers in double figures. Towson has won two in a row. West Virginia, which is 8-7 in the Big East Conference, is led in scoring by junior F Damian Owens at 14.7 ppg and senior G Seldon Jefferson at 14.6. The series is tied 1-1.
