A local boy and his dummy make it to the Grand Ole Opry tonight.

"U.S. Figure Skating Championships" (8 p.m.-11 p.m., WMAR, Channel 2) -- Watch the men and women who duke it out to represent the United States. Tonight, it's the women's and pairs finals, live from Nashville, with Michelle Kwan aiming to duplicate last year's success and Jenni Meno and Todd Sand aiming for a fourth straight title. ABC.

"Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman" (8 p.m.-10 p.m., WJZ, Channel 13) -- Will Sully's best friend fall for Dr. Quinn while her husband's away? Oh my. CBS.

"Profiler" (9 p.m.-11 p.m., WBAL, Channel 11) -- James Coburn guest stars as an "aloof but powerful billionaire" who's somehow connected to a series of murders-by-silver-coins. But the big question: Do they really corner Jack of All Trades? NBC.

"Saturday Night Live" (11: 30 p.m.-1 a.m., WBAL, Channel 11) -- For the eighth time, Chevy Chase returns to where it all started, as guest host for SNL. NBC.

Cable

"Mystery Science Theater 3000" (4 p.m.-6 p.m., repeats 11 p.m.-1 a.m., Sci-Fi) -- Mike and his robot pals take on "The Mole People," a deliciously awful 1956 flick about a group of albinos living under the Earth. Minnesota Vikings running back Robert Smith drops by as the show's first guest star.

"The Statler Brothers Show" (9 p.m.-10 p.m., repeats midnight-1 a.m., TNN) -- Among the guests on tonight's show from the stage of the Grand Ole Opry: Baltimore's own 10-year-old ventriloquist, Spencer Horsman, and his dummy, Dexter.

"Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me" (11 p.m.-1 a.m., TNT) -- Not nearly as good as the TV series that inspired it, this prequel to "Twin Peaks" follows the ill-fated Laura Palmer up to the moment of her death at the hands of who, exactly?
