Officer arrests wanted man at school game

County police arrested a Severn man wanted on drug charges during a basketball game Tuesday night at Meade High School after an off-duty officer recognized the man.

James Cornelius Glover, 29, of the 8500 block of Pioneer Drive was charged with possession and possession with intent to distribute marijuana and possession and possession with intent to distribute marijuana on school property. He also was served with a warrant from New Jersey.

Police spokesman Vaughn Dykes was working as a security guard at the school Tuesday night.

Shortly before 8 p.m., Dykes and Detective Rick Robinson stopped a man Dykes recognized from an earlier wanted list. After confirming the man still was wanted, they arrested him. Eleven bags of marijuana weighing 47.8 grams were in the man's jacket, police said.
