Catherine Curtis to assist president at Villa Julie College

Catherine A. Curtis has been named administrative associate to the president at Villa Julie College in Baltimore.

She has a doctorate in rhetoric and composition and a master's degree from Ohio State University. She taught at the University of Houston, Texas, and at Towson State University.

Curtis lives with her husband, Nevin Laib, and two children in Westminster.

Fire

Westminster: Firefighters responded at 5 a.m. Monday to a carbon monoxide alarm in the 500 block of Baltimore Blvd. Units were out 28 minutes.

Westminster: Firefighters responded at 6: 50 p.m. Saturday to a fire alarm in the 2500 block of Vance Drive. Units were out 31 minutes.

Westminster: Firefighters responded at 5: 52 p.m. Friday to a woods fire in the 400 block of Maple Ave. Units were out 21 minutes.

Police

Westminster: A contractor from Reisterstown told police Friday that someone stole tools from his truck while it was parked at Lowe's on Jan. 31. The loss was estimated at $720.

Westminster: A resident of Spalding Court told police Jan. 29 that someone broke a storm door at his home. Damage was estimated at $200.

Westminster: Employees at Sears Roebuck in Cranberry Mall told police Wednesday that someone stole three cordless telephones. The loss was estimated at $540.

Westminster: A resident of Johahn Drive told police Saturday that someone stole her wallet from her purse while she was shopping at Loews on Clifton Boulevard. The loss was estimated at $260.

Westminster: A resident of Old Washington Road in Sykesville told police Sunday that someone broke the lock on her vehicle while it was parked at the 140 Village shopping center. Damage was estimated at $150.
