Hudspeth, Wells honored at South Carroll High

February 11, 1997

Seniors Aileen Hudspeth and Chris Wells were recognized as South Carroll High School's students of the month for January.

Aileen, the daughter of Sandy and Forrest Hudspeth of Woodbine, participates in the school symphonic and jazz bands, madrigal chorus, the art department's annual crafts show, National Honor Society, and the drama and computer clubs.

She plans to attend college to study music therapy.

Chris, the son of David and Sharon Wells of Sykesville, is a member of the varsity football team, Student Government Association, National Honor Society and Varsity Club.

He is a math tutor and chairman of the Stocking Stuffing project at Christmas. He plans to study preveterinary medicine in college next fall.

Fire

Mount Airy: Firefighters responded at 1: 54 p.m. Saturday to a fire alarm in the 1500 block of S. Main St. Units were out 16 minutes.

Mount Airy: Firefighters assisted Frederick County at 12: 43 p.m. Saturday, responding to a fire alarm in the 1500 block of S. Main St. Units were out 18 minutes.

Mount Airy: Firefighters assisted Frederick County at 2: 21 p.m. Saturday at a house fire in the 6700 block of New London Road. Units were out one hour.

Mount Airy: Firefighters assisted Frederick County at 2: 36 p.m. Saturday, transferring an engine to New Market. Units were out one hour and 45 minutes.
